ARE YOU WILLING TO DIE FOR INDEPENDENCE AND FOR JESUS CHRIST
(John 16:1) These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
(John 16:2) They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth
you will think that he doeth God service.
(John 16:3) And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
(John 16:4) But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I
told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
(John 16:5) But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest
thou?
(John 16:6) But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
On this day of our Nation's Independence, many thoughts turn to the sacrifice of our troop's now
deployed as well as all those who have sacrificed their lives in this war and past wars. Freedom has
always came at a terrible price of human lives. Although in this war the price has been less than any
other major war. Our soldiers have, expressed with few exceptions, stated that they were willing to
give their lives for this country to guarantee the freedom of their loved ones, friends and all
Americans by defeating enemies who want to take it away.
But, there looms a bigger question, Are You Willing To Die For What You Believe Is Right. Many
say yes but if asked will find a way to back out of it. Jesus told the disciples that people would throw
them out of synagogues and kill them, thinking they are doing God’s Will but in fact doing the work of
the Deceiver. He said they would do these things because they did not know Jesus or God his
Father.
The Terrorists insurgents now fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan have been taught that they are doing
the will of their god Allah who say that all who do not believe are infidels and should be wiped out.
Also they are told that if they do Allah's will they will receive the great reward in Heaven (of 72 virgins
and other stuff!?). If they are willing to die for their god why do so many of us here who are Christians
are not willing to die for Christ?
Our founding Fathers were willing to die so we would be free from the tyranny of King George in
England. Satan gives those in his control the false sense of doing what is right in God's eye if they
die while killing those who believe in Christ. What is your problem? Mainly it is because you don't
fully believe or you would know that if you are totally of Christ and believe in the death and
resurrection of Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Also you allow sin to come in your life as an
acceptable part of Christian life and it has been stated by Jesus Christ many times that God can
have no contact with sin at all.
But you say "there is no sin in my life, so what are you saying?" What I'm saying is that every one of
us sins in one way or another and if we don't ask for forgiveness this could interfere. Another is by
accepting a person's sinful acts to continue and to believe this is okay with God. This is not. God
and Jesus have told us to accept the sinner as a brother or sister but not their sin. The acts of
several denominations to allow continuation of their sinful nature and accepting them as true
Christians will cause much harm to them in judgment before Christ. Rampant divorce,
homosexuality, abortions at will, love of money and fame over devotion to Christ and their fellow
man, and many other things stand in the way of eternal life with Christ. Too many churches and
Christians find it easy to roll over and accept sinful natures and loss of certain rights and freedoms
for the common good to rule them instead of adherence to God's will. How many of us are willing to
stand up to the ACLU and other groups and tell them to stop removing all references to Christianity
from public places. To allow homosexuality and Darwinism to be taught to our children instead of the
foundations of and from God that built this country.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye
shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Jesus told us that tribulations in this world would happen that would test us. We should endeavor to
overcome the tribulations of this world so that we can have peace in Jesus. But we can not set back
and wait for it; we have to work for it. We must be willing to give our lives for Christ. Giving in to
worldly things will not save us. Many Christians have and will lose their lives for God and Jesus.
Many who kill them think they are doing God's will. ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE YOUR LIFE FOR
JESUS CHRIST? I am willing.
Have a safe and happy Independence Day.
Heavenly Father, we were told by Jesus that we must be willing to lose our life for Him because that
through Him we will have everlasting life. Help us always to be prepared for this and to not relent on
the things taught by Jesus and You, O Father. That we may always keep Christian values from
disappearing and that we may accept those who are willing to give up their sins so that they may
have eternal life with us always and forever. We thank you for those brave people who have given of
their lives to protect our freedoms. They were willing to die for what they believed in. Help us as
Christians to always be ready and willing to give our lives for others to live in You. In Jesus name
we pray, AMEN
