THE REALITY OF LIFE

(Rom 3:23)  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Face it, this one verse says it all.  No matter how much we deny it, we all sin and come
short of God's glory.  It's in our nature.  We don't want to but we do.  There are many
ways we sin against God.  We lust after a pretty girl if we're a man or a hunk if we're a
woman.  We get something that we realized we were not charged for at the store and say
to ourselves "This is my lucky day" and never correct the problem. The biggest sin is
when we think that the person who is dirty and smells funny, or the one that can't control
what he say due to a disability, or has a disability in general and needs help from welfare
or his community to survive. If we think these people or anybody who is not in our same
social stature is below us, this my friends is the biggest sin of all.  It's the sin of Pride.
More Christians are denied admittance to Heaven for this than for any other sin.  The sad
part is they don't realize this until it's too late.

Pro 16:18  Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Before you say "Wait a minute, this is not me.  I don't feel this way about my fellow human
being."  think seriously about this.  If you look hard enough you will find that all of us
actually do this.  I myself have done this on many occasions and unfortunately I still do.  I
judge a person's character quite often before I get to know about them.  I know it's wrong
but I still do anyhow.

Pro 16:19  Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with
the proud.
This my friends rings so true.  We need to say to ourselves, "What if this was me?"  Many
of us have probably been in this situation at some time in our lives and we managed to
improve ourselves from that situation physically, unfortunately we probably did not
improve ourselves spiritually in the way we should have.  Either that or we lost sight of
what it was like to be in a hardship situation.  Pro 16:25  There is a way that seemeth right
unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.  We think that if we donate great
sums of money to help charities in the third world this takes care of caring for those who
are less fortunate.  But have you forgotten about the ones in you town or even the ones
who may be next door.  Who is a paycheck away from being kicked out of their house.  Or
does not have the money to pay for groceries to feed their children.  Many times these
people are forgotten.  You see them every day but ignore their agonized looks because
you have already help the unfortunate by donating to charity or you think that of they
would just go to work they would have what they need to live.
Pro 16:25  There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the
ways of death.
This is unfortunately the punishment we all may face if we continue in our ways that we
live our lives now.  Come Judgment Day we appear before the Lord and he tells us "You
have done great works my son/daughter but I cannot grant you access to heaven."  You
ask Why and he tells you "Because you did not help you neighbor and you let you pride
keep you from fulfilling you life's goal."  You will probably say " What Pride. I had no pride.
I gave thousand of dollars to charity. I built wing on to Hospitals and gave money to buy
the latest equipment to help save lives.  I built schools to teach our children to make a
better life for them than I had.  I swallowed my pride and gave."  Then the Lord will say
"Yes, you did all of these things to help mankind.  But what about Joe Smith and his
family, or Mary Wilson and her kids?”  You say "What about them?"  Then the Lord will
say "Why did you not help Joe when he lost his job then his house.  He had to move to an
apartment complex that was full of drug dealers.  He lost his kids to drugs then took his
life.  Did you offer to help him to stay in his house and keep his kids safe?"  You say "No,
I, I didn't know what happened to Joe.  I know he lost his job, but he didn't tell me he
needed help.  I would have if I had only known how bad it was.  And what is this about
Mary Wilson and her kids?"
The Lord then responds"  Joe did tell you and you said offhandedly that you see what you
could do." Oh and you know that Mary lost her kids too didn't you?"  One died of
malnutrition. The other died of a rare childhood disease.  The third was taken by social
services for not going to school and was also malnourished."  You say" What? I didn't
know"  I hear about the two dying but they never told me why."  The Lord shakes his head
and says "You were told by Joe and By Mary but you didn't care about it."  You say "Not
true Lord, Not True".  And the Lord will say "Yes you were told and were too busy on your
charity committees and other affairs of a man of your stature to help out."  "If you would
have took time to understand and listen you could have helped by giving them the
assistance they needed both financially and spiritually."  You I know would have given
money to them to help and you would have sent Mary's one child to your hospital for care
for her illness, but you say you didn't know.  You did know but chose not to help because
of your pride.  You told them to call your offices for help and they did but your staff's said
that they did not meet the guidelines for help and was refused.  YOU DECIDED THAT IT
WAS BENEATH YOU TO HELP THEM PERSONALLY."  You realize that he is right and ask
what you can do now and the Lord says "Nothing, It's to late now.. These two examples
are to show you why I cannot forgive you and let you enter into Heaven. You thought you
did the right thing but it was not.  As it was in the Bible in Pro 16:30  "He shutteth his eyes
to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass."  You did many things to
help mankind for the praise of your fellow man but you forgot the true meaning of help for
your fellow man.  You let your pride get in the way."  You must now depart me and be
punished for your shortcomings for eternity.

Don't let this happen to you my friend.  Remember that the best charity is the charity of
helping your neighbor as well as others.  Don't let pride come before you good works.  Let
us Pray

O Heavenly Father, forgive us of our sins.  Lord help us to keep pride from
interfering in our lives.  Help us to help our fellow man when it is needed and
keep us from helping other just for the attention.  Let us glorify you O Lord and
keep us always in a humble posture of being servants unto you now and
forever.  Amen.
